Hey, glad you're here and hope you're excited! We're going to go over a few basics and then you're free to dive in!
The Zoom Calls
Our Zoom calls are the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month at 1 pm Pacific time, and they usually go for an hour. You have no obligation to be on there the whole time, although I hope you'll be happy hanging out. We critique each other's websites, problem solve, team up on projects and cheer each other on.
If you have a specific need and you plan to be on the Zoom, fill out this form so that we prioritize time to help you work through whatever you're needing help on. You can join without doing the form, but we will plan to work on presubmitted things and get to any other questions later. Depending on what you're asking for, be prepared to be able to share your screen.
Homework
Occasionally there will be pdf worksheets. Generally, these are for you to print and fill out, longhand, because it sticks in your brain better than typing does. There's always a portion that I want to see, and I'll ask you to post that. Please post in the group the section I ask for in the lesson.
Obviously you're going to get out what you put into this, but keep in mind that for the most part, done is better than perfect. Because this class is self-paced, you have the luxury of getting bogged down in perfectionism. My advice to you is to try to do one every two weeks, even if done imperfectly. You can always go back later and fine tune, and later you'll have a more experienced perspective on what needs to be changed and what is fine the way it is.
I encourage you to work through each assignment, especially the ones you don't feel like doing. Where there's resistance tends to be where there's breakthrough.
The "Optional Homework" section is for the times when you feel a week's assignment is particularly important in your business, or it's an area you feel you really need work on. "Extra credit" if you will.
Questions for God
There's usually two per module. I'm not trying to tell you how to converse, but sometimes I think we don't ask the appropriate questions for where we are in the process, and sometimes we don't even know what to ask. You are not limited to these questions.
For some reason, I find I get answers more clearly when I ask out loud. If you are worried about your hearing don't be. God is not so disempowered by your ineptness that He can't get you where you need to be. So while hearing is important, it's more important to have a properly positioned heart that is earnestly asking the questions.
The PDF below is a list of all the lessons so you can track your progress if this is helpful for you.
The Power of Agreement
You don’t have to post your visions from the challenge homework, but it might help if you do. You guys are going to be all rooting for each other as Alice and I are rooting for you. It helps us get on board with what you are trying to do. In a world where there isn’t much support for pie-in-the-sky, that matters!
Same goes for posting homework. We’re not trying to check you on things, we’re trying to help you get there. You don’t have to post, we won’t make you, you don’t flunk out, but consistently in previous years, it’s the people who show up, do the work, and interact are the ones who grow.
